Google Business Video Verification Step by Step

Video Verification: Step-by-Step

You will need 2 devices. It is easiest with a computer and a smart phone.

1. Prepare Your Mobile Device and Computer.

● Enable camera, microphone, and location access for the Google Business Profile section on your mobile device.
● Ensure you have a stable internet connection (Wi‑Fi or mobile data)
● Make sure you are logged into the browser that has access to the Google Business Profile on both the computer and the mobile device.

2. Plan Your Video

Depending on business type, you’ll need to capture the following: (Google will also display specific items to include. If they are different from these, please follow those instructions.)

For Storefront/Hybrid Businesses

● Location: Show your storefront and surrounding landmarks or street signs.
● Signage: Clearly display your permanent business sign matching your profile name.
● Access/Evidence: Demonstrate entry into the business—e.g., open the door, unlock a POS system, open a cash register, or enter a storage area.

For Service‑Area Businesses

● Service area: Film street signs or recognizable landmarks.
● Business existence: Show branded vehicles, uniforms, tools, or work equipment.
● Management proof: Record yourself performing work or showing documents like invoices or permits

3. Trigger the Verification Prompt

● Sign in to your Google Business Profile Manager via a desktop or laptop computer.
● Click Get Verified next to your business listing on the computer.
● A QR Code will pop up on the computer.
● Scan the QR code with your mobile device to continue.
● Google will show your business name & address—confirm accuracy.

4. Record the Video

● Tap Start recording, then record one continuous, unedited video, at least 30 seconds long (Google allows the videos to be up to 5 minutes. Please note we have noticed videos over 3 minutes sometimes do not go through. Try to do this in under 3 minutes if possible)
● Capture all required elements in one smooth shot.
● Ensure no sensitive information is visible (e.g., IDs, bank details or faces of non‑affiliated individuals)

5. Review & Upload

● Review your video. If it’s clear and complete, tap Upload video; if not, choose Try again.

6. Wait for Google to Review

● Google typically reviews within up to 5 business days
● You’ll get a notification:
○ Verified – happy days!
○ Needs rework – Google will tell you what was missing; record a new video addressing those points.
